Mock API Data Generator

Generate repeatable synthetic users, products, orders and events with JSON, NDJSON and spreadsheet-safe CSV exports.

WORKSPACERuns in your browser
Fields
Synthetic fixtures only. Reserved example.com emails, fictional names and noncryptographic seeded randomness.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a preset, locale, fields and up to 1,000 records.
  2. Set a seed to reproduce a fixture.
  3. Generate, inspect and export synthetic data in your preferred format.

Create repeatable synthetic API fixtures

Use the same seed and selected fields to reproduce a two-record fixture for a test suite.

Input

{
  "preset": "users",
  "count": 2,
  "seed": "securedevtools-demo",
  "locale": "en-US",
  "fields": [
    "id",
    "name",
    "email"
  ]
}

Expected output

[
  {
    "id": "user_1",
    "name": "Sample Person 45623",
    "email": "[email protected]"
  },
  {
    "id": "user_2",
    "name": "Sample Person 32873",
    "email": "[email protected]"
  }
]

Names are visibly synthetic and email addresses use the reserved example.com domain. Reusing the seed and settings reproduces the same data. This generator’s deterministic PRNG is for fixtures, not secrets; CSV export separately neutralizes leading spreadsheet formula characters.

More examples

  • The same seed and settings reproduce the same fixture.
  • Sample emails use reserved example.com addresses.
  • CSV cells beginning with formula markers receive a leading apostrophe before quoting.

Know the limits

Fixtures are synthetic and deliberately simple. Seeded randomness is noncryptographic. Prices and order totals are independent sample values, not an accounting model.

Common questions

Does this use real people’s data?

No. Names are clearly labeled Sample Person and emails use example.com.

Is NDJSON valid as one JSON document?

No. Each line is an independent JSON object; use a line-oriented parser.
